Fri- YAY or NAY: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

The NYX soft matte lip cream is available in thirty-four different shades to choose from. The texture of this cream is a bit velvety with a silky sheen to it, but it settles down perfectly into a matte finish. NYX has recently added twelve more astounding shades to this product line.

I am obsessed with these lip creams. By far this is my most reached for product on a daily basis. As a matte kinda girl, this lightweight formula, pretty opaque, non-drying and cream consistency just makes my everyday makeup routine easy and fast.

I most recently purchased three different colors: Stockholm, Monte Carlo and my all time favorite Copenhagen. This product wears so well- even with the darker shades. The Soft Matte Lip Creams were everything I imagined and more. They glide on like a dream and dries down to a comfortable, long wearing matte finish. They are neither a lipstick nor a gloss but a wonderful, in-between product that feels creamy and lightweight to apply and gives an amazing color payoff.

My thoughts.

The NYX soft matte lip cream has a rich, creamy texture, and it comes with an applicator that works nicely and precisely for a perfect application. The best way to wear this lip cream is by applying two to three coats- especially for the darker shades. You might feel a slight glossiness on your lips but once the cream settles down it would turns a matte finish. For all of my girls that like to continuously rub your lips together (to make sure the product is still there) but never found a matte that moves the way you need it to- this is for you. It has the color of a lipstick but the smoothness of LipSmackers.

One problem is that the product builds up on the applicator’s sponge and it might result in excessive usage of the product. The only true negative review I have is that it does not last as long as a lipstick or sheer gloss. Since you need to keep applying for full application you’re looking at a lifespan of about 3 to 4 weeks. However the price is perfect for buying more than one.

Matte finish always looks dry, the fine lines usually gives this matte finish and we don’t want that flaky and chappy type of dry. Glad to say that this does not dry your lips. With a lip balm as a base also help the hydration even better. It evenly coats your lips for a perfect application.
