Why I Don’t Work Out on Vacation

There is something about taking a vacation. Whether you want to lounge around your hometown for a few days or you’re leaving the country for a month to discover the 7 wonders of the world, it is a change of scenery from your mundane day to day activities.

There is so much to explore and do in a new place. So many experiences and memories to make. Why the fuck would I spend time in a gym? Wasting away valuable time! Is my body going to change that much in the next 7 days? I’m not a fitness model or walking a runway anytime soon so I have some wiggle room.

So you might be thinking well you can wake up early and do it before your day begins. Well yes I guess so but if I’m getting up early I’d want to see the sun rise over the Atlantic or eat at a new breakfast place that I wouldn’t get to experience elsewhere. There is so much to see and explore, so many new people to meet.

I went to New Orleans for a few days where you can keep busy for a literal 24 hours. Coming from Pennsylvania where it was 40 degrees, the 80 plus heat was a nice change of pace.  Why would I waste this amazing experience in a gym?

Go out. Explore. Eat. Enjoy the people around you.
